Binoculars are still banned in March 2023! They are confiscated at the airport and can be retrieved again the day you leave the country. Rule of nonsense!
So if you are a birdwatcher, you have to do without or rent/loan a pair.

They aren't "banned", you need to apply for, and recieve, an import permit before entering the country.

Still nonsense. All because of the conflict in the north. You can bring a video camera or a camera with big lenses, but not a binocular. Finding information on the internet about this is not easy.
