Birding in southern Thailand (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I'm heading to Krabi and then Khao Lak in mid-February for a week in each area. So far I haven't been able to find any local guides for a few day trips. I've tried Nick Upton at Thai birding, the Thailand Birdwatching website and Wild Bird Eco with no luck (or no response).
Does anyone have any recommendations or contacts/links I could try please?
Cheers KJA

Have you tried looking at the top birders for Thailand on ebird? Some of them are guides and usually have contact info in there user profile, assuming they have a public one?

I've done quite well on my own down there. If you have transportation, check e-bird sites and pick what suits you. There were a few good pages that I used to consult but they seem to be defunct. Google South Thailand birding and see what comes up.

This is a handy guide for IDs.

Thank you. I have tried the Thailand Birdwatching site but I think it might not be current (it is still talking about Gurney's Pittas) and emails have been unanswered. Ebird listers may be my best bet..

Did you have any luck finding local guides or did you do it yourself in the end? Would be interested to hear how you got on
