Bluebird question. (1 Viewer)

About a week ago a male Bluebird started hanging around my BB house. He comes every day, defends his territory and keeps popping his head into the box as if feeding mate or babies. I've seen the female once at the beginning. No nesting material and female is absent. Any ideas why they are not permanent residents?
Thank you for your replies.

Hi again DKB... I've moved your post to the more appropriate Garden Bird forum where it is likely to attract more attention.

The only thing I can think of for the moment is that she has sadly died, or maybe she didn't approve of his nest box selection! So he's now trying to attract another female.

Thank you so much. Yes, that was what I was thinking. He's trying hard, sing away all day! I'm so excited to be able to share on this forum. Take care and I'm looking forward to being a part of the group.
