Boston Birding ? (1 Viewer)

Hi , just looking for any info on birding in the general Boston area.
I am going over to a family wedding at the end of november and decided to stay on a few days to get some birding in , was over there 3 years ago and i did some birding out at Cape Cod.
Any info on any other spots around the area would be most welcome , i will have a hire car so can travel a bit if required.

Rockport/Gloucester (alcids, sea ducks, gulls, etc.) and Plum Island/Parker River NWR (raptors/owls, seabirds, waterfowl, etc.), both closer than the cape and less than an hour north of boston, would be popular destinations that time of year. What are your exact dates?

After thinking about it, I think the Cape Ann area (Rockport/Gloucester) would be difficult for a visitor to bird, because the best areas are on private property and not that easy to find, plus you need to know the ins and outs so you don't offend people. But Parker River National Wildlife Refuge/Plum Island would definitely be worth a visit.

Overall, late November is one of the slow periods for birding in the area, but there's always something.

It looks like I will be in the Cambridge area end of may 10....Plum Island and Rockport still active around that time of the year? I look forward to this little journey....! thanks in advance... jim

Those are good spots year round. also try Belle Marsh in East Boston & Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge. Enjoy!
