Caddis Fly Identification. (1 Viewer)

Afternoon,

This caddis fly obliged for a picture on the Grand Western Canal in Mid Devon. I believe this could be Limnephilus flavicornis.

Is anyone able to confirm this or not? The other possibility could be Micropterna sequax but it looks better to me for the aforementioned.

Regards,
Andrew.

Well, I think is the same genus, Micropterna sp. but the species is very difficult.
I don't think is Limnephilus sp.

Ciao!!

I had a reply from a Dr Ian Wallace of the Riverflies website and he also said it was difficult to be certain which this one would be so it goes down as a Caddis Fly species in the photo archives.

Regards,
Andrew.
