Yesterday - Caspian Tern at Acre Nook SQ; Turnstone, Green Sandpiper, Whimbrel and 4 Common Sandpipers at Frodsham; 5 Crossbills at West Kirby; 10 Little Terns and 800+ Sandwich Terns at Red Rocks; c730 Sandwich Terns and 165 Common Terns at Hoylake; Greenshank at Leasowe; 8 Green Sandpipers and Corn Bunting at Burton Mere Wetlands;

Today - Caspian Tern at Acre Nook SQ; unconfirmed report of a Spoonbill at Burton Mere Wetlands also 380+ Little Egrets roosting this week; 100's Sandwich Terns, 2 Whimbrel and several Little terns at Red Rocks; 4 Whimbrel at Leasowe; Arctic Skua, Little Tern and c30 Gannets off Hoylake; Whimbrel at Neumann's Flash; Hobby and Green Sandpiper at Frodsham;

1 juvenile Hobby at Risley, at least 2 Yellowhammer and a pale Buzzard which looked very beautiful.

End July is very early for a juvenile Hobby, most wont be out the nest till mid/late August, particularly given their later than normal start this year ?
 
That's what I thought but the guy present said it would be this years. Maybe it was just a year old bird, providing they are still brown? Then again I know of a pair of which one was a brown bird and it was breeding. The pair I know of fledge around the 3rd week of August and arrive around the 5th of May.

Leucistic Magpie In Runcorn

From about 23rd July a Leucistic magpie has regularly been seen feeding in and under the cherry trees in Ascot Ave Higher Runcorn, opposite the shops.

Its black feathers are tan coloured, and its legs and beak are pink. Its eye is still black as it should be. The tail is white not black.

LEUCISTIC MAGPIE STILL IN RUNCORN

This young magpie is still feeding in Ascot Ave Runcorn in the cherry trees over the road from the few shops there.

Early mornings are most reliable for sightings. It sports pink legs and beak, with brown, tan and white feathers!

photos of the presumed escaped Laughing Dove on 5th August near Broken Cross in Macclesfield. Interestingly it is a juvenile/1st summer. Not been seen since despite searching.
