Hi all, I cannot really buy a prime lens cost & the usage I get just does not warrant such a spend! I have a D7200 + Sigma 150-600 contempoary lens, Lately I have wanted to add a TC for a bit more length! Tired a cheap Kenco but AF is horrible but I have been told the Sigma TC 1401 works well and the AF is great !
Does anyone have any experience of this combo or any thoughts much appreciated !
TIA
PS, I have thought about PT ex my sigma at a shop for a used Nikon 500mm F4 ED VR AFS prime or the PF 500 prime, but what they offer for mine is silly!

Hi Shrek, I use exactly that combo but only add the TC in very good light. Low light I've found it's not worth it more often than not.

Don't use tc unless you are shooting some still birds in good light. DSLR camrea is not good at focusing in aperture lower than 8. Try to get close to birds using covers or careful move so that you don't need so large focal length. You just can't get a good clear image for a far away bird since there are atmospheric distrubance.
