Gull - Duluth, MN (1 Viewer)

I recently visited a spot known for having many Thayer's Gulls and other less common gulls during the fall/winter. I spotted one gull that stood out as having a darker looking eye (but not the very dark eye that some Thayer's have) rather than the bright yellow that one usually sees for adult Herring Gulls. I took some photos and sent them to a friend who is better with gulls. He thought that some of the features looked to be intermediate between Herring and Thayer's. I am a gull novice and my friend is also still learning, so I figured I would post it on here. Does this look like a pure Herring Gull?
