Gull ID Northants (1 Viewer)

One from local Boddington Reservoir. My excuse for being rubbish at Gulls is that I'm waiting for the new Collins! But perhaps I should make learning Gulls my new-year's resolution ;)
So, is this just a Herring Gull (of some kind), or something else? The bill ring looks a little unusual to me, perhaps. No better pics since it was a long way off.
