Hi everyone,

Wow, it’s been a very long time since I joined a forum - everything seems to be happening on social media these days, so this is a very welcome blast from the past!

Anyway, I’m Nicole. I’ve been a birder for 4 years or so and it’s been a pretty life changing thing for me, falling in love with birds. I see the world very differently now. I feed birds in my garden here in Scotland, and I pretty much never leave the house without binoculars. I have a particularly soft spot for waders and ducks, but my absolute favourite bird is the dipper.

I’m currently at university as a mature student, training to be a counsellor. I’m also into watercolour, and mainly paint birds and wildlife (who’d have guessed! 😆).

I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone on here.

Nicole

Hi Nicole and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

Guess what... my all-time favourite bird is the Dipper too. Such dapper little guys I think.

All things Scottish can be found here. Also, keep an eye on threads titled something like Scottish Bashes; we try to meet up occasionally and they're always great fun. You'd be most welcome to join us on another if you can manage.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

Hi Delia, thank you so much for the warm welcome. I hadn’t noticed the Scottish section yet. I’ll definitely be there if there’s a bash.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group.

I'd love to have one this autumn (probably too late now though) or next spring. But we all need to be comfortable re the Covid complications.
