Juvenile sparrow in winter?! (1 Viewer)

Hello all
Normally my garden is full of sparrows, but for the past few days I have had none.....apart from one, which seems to be a juvenile sparrow all on its own. I took some pictures of the sparrow while viewing images from my wildlife camera. Not great quality but you will see it seems quite young.

Is it normal too see youngish sparrows in mid February?

BWP lists April as the earliest for egglaying so would be extremely unusual to have a fresh juvenile at this time of year. The plumage looks a bit too old for a fresh juvenile, eye stripe too strong etc. Could well be a female fledged last year that is a bit smaller than the average.

Yes, I thought that. It's still a bit fluffy still. Here it is having a nap in a quite exposed place by my door.
