Linnet or Twite? Blakeney UK, November 21st (1 Viewer)

Hi

I know ID is notoriously difficult. I think that these are Twite, but looking for confirmation. Completely accept that it might not be possible from a photo like this, but very appreciative of any help. Thanks in advance !!

Sadly, all Linnets. Twite has colder, darker upperparts, the dark mantle stripes bolder + a more contrasting, pale greater covert bar.

Linnet for me. Dark brown coverts, no pink rump etc

The reckoning these days is that you're more likely to see a Bee-eater in Norfolk than a Twite. Quite a big shift in status for both.

Many thanks for the responses. There apparently were some Twite in that area, (near the five bar gate on the Blakeney/Cley marsh path if you know the area), but looks like I was not lucky enough to see them
