Couldn't trap in the week so put it out last night in clear, cold breezy conditions - not sure a single Hebrew Character was worth the effort!

Trapped last night, March Moth probably the star, otherwise 3 Small and a Common Quaker plus 3 Hebrew Character.

First dry night for a while and five moths in the trap, very much still a March feel to it: nothing NFY, but 2 Early Grey and an Oak Beauty for charisma and singles of Small and Common Quaker for consistency.

Couple of Caddis Flies added biodiversity (no way am I going to get into trying to ID those!)

Poor mothing conditions here, but managed three Early Greys, 3 double striped pugs, 7 hebrew character, 3 common quaker and a single small quaker and common plume. An unexpected black-burying beetle at the bottom of the trap added some excitement though.

Nothing for me last night, cold and clear made sure of that.

Was going to try again tonight, but the conditions will be the same, so not going to bother.

I wondered if it might be a bit cool last night but went ahead anyway and was rewarded with two NFY: Pale Pinion and LBAM.

Total catch was into double figures: 13/7 spp with the returners being 2 Hebrew Character, 6 Small Quaker and singles of Early Grey, Common Quaker and Clouded Drab, the last being a pale specimen unlike my usual run of the species.

Nice one, John...my garden seems like it's totally devoid of moths at the moment, so looking forward to the warmer months.

After empty traps for the last 4 weeks I finally got my first moths of 2024, 4 Hebrew Characters.
