Molting Pond Heron in Chiang Rai (1 Viewer)

Dear members and Bird watchers!

Most Pond Herons I see is still in winter uniform. I have seen a couple of Javan Pond Herons in breeding plumage in Bangkok.

Yesterday I spotted a Pond Heron and it was pretty long gone in the molting. It have a light coloured chest so Java and Indian is my only options.

But this bird is a little bit yellowish so my best guess is a Javan Pond Heron.

Is it possible to see what kind of Pond Heron this is from the attached picture?

Kind regards and happy birding
Aladdin

Thank you Butty!

Sorry, no more pictures! I have checked on internet for juvenile Yellow Bittern and I agree with you. Also, the top of the head is dark as a Yellow Bittern, something the Javan and Indian Pond Heron is not having.

Thanks! Appreciated!
