Stickies are threads that are 'stuck' at the top of the individual forums. They usually contain useful information about the topic or sometimes (as in Ruffled Feathers) the rules and guidelines for posting in that forum.

See thus screen grab; the top three posts are all stuck there and don't move. Some Stickies are locked so you can't reply to them (as is the case with these three... notice the little padlock.
