(Parany) Mass Bird Trapping in Spain (1 Viewer)

Could someone please confirm what the objective of the trapping is for, as I dont think any of the information states this, i.e. where is the demand in this chain?

signed n delivered...lets hope it will do some good...
...the 'cynic' in me says that any laws concerning this practice will be flaunted....[i hope the 'cynic' in me is wrong]!

Vespa

They eat them. Considered as a delicacy in some areas of southern Europe. I've a feeling that they command a decent price. There's another price that the hunters refuse to acknowledge of course.

Signed.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I did not say why they hunt song birds, they are a great delicacy roasted.

Here is a clip from UTube showing Jeremy Clarkson in France eating an Ortolan Bunting which is also illegal and hope I don't get into trouble with him or anybody else posting this. I think I should say the clip is not nice to watch if you like seeing birds flying free not being eaten.

I'm curious what the 'food networks' would have to say about parany.
This isn't subsistance hunting, it's a 'for profit' collecting technique...wonder what kind of glue they use and if the manufacturer is aware....very interesting.
(aside) When I was a kid, my grandfather used to joke that the only reason people would eat a hummingbird was to impress their friends...look how right he was.
I can't imagine the effort of plucking feathers for that little meat...this from a former dove hunter. Oddly, I think most Americans are totally unaware that this happens.
