I've noticed recently that there may be some older versions (of FF, at least) that don't automatically checkback and notify the user of updates - the latest, security patched versions are available now.

Firefox 1.5.0.7

Thunderbird 1.5.0.7

That's strange, mine has been checking and updating for quite a while but it missed that last one so thanks for the info, both done only took a couple of minutes.

Both Thunderbird and Firefox automatically updated themselves this AM now I can't access the server using Firefox. It keeps timing-out. I'm posting this going through IE.

Try rebooting, Dan - I'm guessing that your firewall hasn't picked up on the change and is blocking it; a reboot usually triggers a pop-up to ask you to allow the newly changed program.

Re-booting solved it. This time I got the Sygate question window indicating a program change and said ok for Firefox to access the net.

I think we're all computer illiterate to some extent; we know what we need to know, based on what we would like to accomplish - I think ...

Thanks from me too. I was using V 1.5 FF which also wasnt seeing any updates !! Curious !
