Questions about barn owl feeding chicks? (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I have been watching the barn owl live feed from RSPB. There is only one adult and at least 2 chicks. I have not seen a second adult. I have a few questions!

Where is the other adult?
Do the chicks only get food at night - they are not sleeping now - they look quite active?
Do both adults go out when the chicks get bigger - if so when does this happen?

The caption says 5 chicks - I can only see a couple - what is the usual rate of loss?

I cannot share the feed unfortunately - the link came to me via an email, I think you have to be a member to watch :(
