raptor ID Malaysia (1 Viewer)

Taken in Perak, Malaysia near Gerik. This bird was soaring around very unfalconlike, but it looks like a Peregrine, can anyone give positive id?

Without knowing anything about your birds, this looks more like a small Buteo than a falcon.

It certainly appears to be a broad-winged raptor rather than a falcon.

It's not a falcon nor a Buteo but actually a Rufous-bellied Eagle- in the same genus as Little Eagle.

Thanks for the ID - makes a lot more sense. My eyes are still blinded from how many times it flew into the sun! A nice small eagle. Cheers.
