Hi, I am unable to even provide a reasonable guess as to its identity:), the thick, apparently straight and single colour bill coupled with the apparent lack of a supercilium leave me at a loss. No doubt it's ID is quite obvious to those on here, hence my request for assistance:) There were more than one of these birds so the photos may show different birds.
It was in a very wet field, with standing water in places, in an agricultural area (rice fields and shrimp ponds) in Songklha Province, south east Thailand. Photos were taken around 10 am on August 14, 2023.

All comments and critiques most welcome and appreciated.

Lots of black necked stilts, wood sandpipers and common redshanks close by.

Thank you in advance
steve
