Am going to SW Oz for a few days in November and was wondering if anyone has any good site recommendations. Have lived in Oz but have never been to this part before and looking to catch up with as many endemics as possible. Am staying on Rottnest for a night then going south of Perth. Any info would be very welcome.

Have lots of info about the SW corner- but where abouts are you going? It's a big place. Are you camping or have you booked accomadation.

There's the western coast, down past Rockingham, all the way down to the capes- the south-western corner- lots of national parks down here. There's also the southern coast, from the capes across to albany through denmark again with plently of things to see and to and lots of national parks!

If you can let me know where you plan on heading I'll add some more info. There's also parks just south of perth- Bungy south of Armadale (just of the Albany highway in the suburb of bedfordale- parking opposite Eamus Catholic Primary School, Birbra lake resrve is also a great place for birds. Point Walter in Bicton / Attadale (you will go past this on the ferry to Rottnest if you are going from Barrack Street Jetty) often has some nice birds, lovely photo oppurtunities for korellas in the evening as well.

Have you got a few days in Perth as well?

Hart.

Hart, Thanks for the reply. Arrive in Perth and am staying in Freemantle for a couple of days. Then go to Rottnest for a night, then down south of there to a vinyard to stay in a cottage. Will have a car so just looking for a few easy and quick places to bird
