Thinking of making a trip to this legendary Honey Buzzard hot spot. Going up from East Lancashire and would love to see Turtle Dove, Nightjar, Woodlark too. Not sure if the latter occurs that far North. None of these are lifers for me but some will be for companions. I am not sure what we will tie it in with just yet. Any good spots, times?

No chance on Woodlark. Turtle Dove, try the Mill Inn at Harwood Dale - usually reliable. There are others in Broxa forest and potentially at the Nursery to the SW of the raptor viewpoint. Nightjar is just pick a clearing in the forest and wait.

Last year (mid may) I had quite a few Nightjar around Google Maps also plenty of Woodcock + Tree pipit but the clearing change so do check when your their for a raptor watch what clearings look good
