Corvids: crows and ravens, because of their intelligence and religious connotations. Closely followed by the North American ruffed grouse.

Corvids, I enjoy their behaviour and intelligence greatly. The Northern Ravens of my time in very northern BC were a sight to see. Huge (as far as my experience with ravens). Very canny with regards to people too.

Other than that things with large beaks, such as Toucan's are very cool. Toucans are something I would very much like to witness firsthand.

Costa Rica, Sarapiqui Valley, Selva Verde Lodge. Lots of very clownish small toucans (araçaris) coming to the feeders there, and a few of the larger species as well.

Alcidae for me. Something about life on the open sea and then hanging around cliff faces to breed. They are also easy to photograph and sketch.

Trogon's for me

Trogon's for me with Pitta's a close second (Sarah)

I know David's are either Penguins or Birds of Paradise.
