Identification

Male is unmistakable in most of the Australian range; notice its tail which is grey close to the body, darker further out. Female is similar to a lot of other female and immature whistlers.

Habitat

Very varied in the type of forest and scrub habitat acceptable, from rainforest and mangrove to gardens to dry scrub.

Behaviour

In Australia, breeding season is mainly August to January.
