Orange Bishop in Bakersfield "pics" (1 Viewer)

This guy has been hanging around my house in Bakersfield for a couple of weeks. I'm told it is most likely an escapee. Beautiful little bird.

Cock bird as hens are drab brown. African native, and unless there is an established colony in the area it will be an escapee. They are quite tough little birds so providing there is sufficient food and he escapes predators, he could survive OK. I don't think Bakersfield winters would cause too much of a problem.
