American Coot being kleptoparasitized by an American Wigeon
American Coot (Fulica americana americana) being kleptoparasitized by an American Wigeon (Mareca americana) male. American Wigeons are almost exclusively aquatic vegetarians during the winter. I had no idea that they would steal vegetation that coots worked for.

Urban setting, a manicured park with two ponds. The ponds are divided by Discovery Blvd. Lampasas Cut Plain vegetation area at 291 m (955 ft) elevation.
