And then I got lucky - 3

And then I got lucky - 3 (Bombycilla garrulus)

Here come three from my best Waxwing series in my life ... so far. I got lucky with the light, the setting, and a cooperative bird. I saw the bird land in a garden by the bus stop just as I was getting off the bus to start my fjordshore survey route. So I slooooowly walk along the garden fence until I got these good, clean shots and was even able to line them up so the branches and rose hips dangled in from one side of the frame. And the bird gave me views of details I'd never seen before - that reverse-forked tongue that they use to hook and push whole berries down their throats.
