Aoudad (Barbary) Sheep (Ammotragus lervia: Bovidae) This species of caprid is native to the arid rocky mountains in North Africa but has naturalized in much of the southwestern USA in similar habitat.
Habitat
Davis Mountains foothills with juniper/oak woodlands surrounded by semi-arid grasslands at 1,510 m (4,954 ft) elevation.
Location
Chinuahuan Desert Research Institute, southeast of Fort Davis, Jeff Davis County, Texas, USA.
