This shot was taken on the 18th Feb 2013 with a canon 7d and a 400mm 5.6 lens....Shutter speed 1/2500 sec,ISO 400 at F8 . This is a shot I have been waiting to get for a long time ,a barn owl with prey,after watching the owl in all conditions hunting and taking prey I got lucky on this day,everything was right,i had a good idea that he spotted something due to the postion of the owl just before he dived down,i anticipated and hoped he would come up with something so I just pre focused on a spot and lucky for me he had something and was just passing it from talon to mouth.....
