Pure folly
Above the town (and castle) is Dun na Cuaiche, a folly built in the 17th century.

It was a climb too far for me though.

We finally left Inveraray and headed to the top of the loch for lunch at the Oyster Bar. A very good lunch it was too.

Also spent a fortune in the farm shop there, coming home with some nice fish and chutneys.

We then headed up and over the Rest and be Thankful in rather misty conditions; my sister then heading south and me east.

Thanks for joining me on that lovely trip.

Why climb it? You could not photograph it like this. Beautiful scenery and capture.

Thank you for taking us on your trip Delia! It's a curious skyline, with the folly starkly interrupting the skyline. Putting up an edifice like that would have been quite a task, certainly showing you had more money than sense!
