I'm seeing quite a few of this threatened species which alway makes me happy ;) The Pileated Woodpecker is the largest woodpecker in North America with the exception of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker if it still exists.

Look for Pileated Woodpeckers in stands of mature forest

A beauty of a detailed close up, pose, lighting, setting and capture KC, lovely job and many tfs.
 
Just hope its still around for future generations. This is a brilliant captured close up you have of this beauty KC, well done.
