My first property-listed Oriole!
While this bird was not my first-ever, it was a first for my home, especially at my feeders. We had bought an Oriole feeder in hopes of attracting a bunch, but unfortunately, the Oriole ate suet instead. I feel that maybe the spring-loaded bug-guarded feeding holes were too camouflaged for the bird to see, even though the feeding hole is right smack-dab in between the two ends of the perch.
We have not seen an oriole since this photo was taken (2007-May-04) but there's a group of them living about 3/4-mile from my house. Another factor may be that my feeders are all crammed into a tight space (5 feeders in 5 cubic feet of airspace).
Taken in TIFF mode for highest quality, but saved for web as JPEG.
