Chestnut-bellied Monarch

Chestnut-bellied Monarch (Monarcha castaneiventris)

Currently birds from Santa Ana are considered to be the subspecies ugiensis, however, it is likely that these birds are a separate subspecies. Whilst both the birds from Ugi and Santa Ana are all black, I understand that DNA has revealed that they evolved separately from the Chestnut-bellied birds on Makira.
