Fawn-breasted Brilliant
Fairly uncommon hummingbird found in Andean cloud forest from Colombia through to Peru mainly around 1,000–2,200m.
Habitat
Cloud forest (but mainly in secondary forest/more open scrub) around 1900m.

Thanks Delia. I don't mind some wing movement so long as the body (particularly eye/head) is sharp as often there is not enough light to use high enough shutter speed to freeze action (and I'm not interested in using flash/multi-flash set ups to photograph hummers). On this occasion I just sat quietly for a couple of hours watching and photo'ing the hummers when they visited the various flowering shrubs. There were feeders in the area but I try to avoid those where possible (a couple of species on this trip only ever "performed" or perched at feeders unfortunately).
