Great White Pelican
Imposing with a wingspan the second largest in the world, I was surprised at how pink some of these birds looked. Perhaps that's the origin of an alternate name "Rosy Pelican." This coloration is apparently typical of some birds in breeding plumage. Such birds may be confused with the smaller, grayer Pink-backed Pelican.
