CrimsonTopaz - east Texas is usually "green", but last year we had the worst drought in history and millions of trees have died. You can see a dead tree to my left in the photo - it's called a "Water Oak" and we lost about 6 of this species. The Post Oaks can tolerate drought better. There were many wildfires, too. West Texas is the dry desert type region.

Delia - the Bluebonnets belong in the Lupine family, but don't grow as tall.
