so commonly seen
as poultry ...

that the dazzling
look a male has
looses
some impact ... but

it's a treat
... and privilege

to watch them
roaming free ...
... in the wild

That day ... we were
driving through the
Pilibhit Tiger Reserve
... located in the
Himalayan Terai ...
... bordering Nepal

when this male ...
... first moved
parallel
to the Jeep Track
... and
as we nearly stopped
... he crossed the
track some distance
ahead of us ...

The BF database has only
one video-clip ... that
I had posted when BFTv
upload was functional ...
... taken in another
Terai forest at
Jim Corbett National Park ...
... it shows a pair in
dusk twilight ...

That's quite the beautiful close up of this beauty Alok! Splendid detail and colors guy.

A true free-range cock. The photo looks much better. :t: Great to have a look on the map to see where you capture all these wonderful species. :gh:
Munich is not the place to be for rare bird species. It was a welcomed change for me to spot some relatively "rare" birds on migration in the last weeks.
