Red Bellied Woodpecker. This is a very skittish bird. The hairy and downy woodpeckers that visit my yard are fairly tolerant of my presence, and often when they're perched somewhere, I'll maneuver around, trying to get the best angle for a shot, and they don't pay me much attention. Not with these RBW's. These guys land, snatch a few bights, and are gone. If I am outside and make a move, they disappear quickly. They are also supposedly a rare sight in these parts. So I take what I can get with them and am glad for whatever I end up with!
