Jumping Jack Flash (Cyanocitta stelleri)

A bit of Saturday Silliness. Sorry I didn't get any browsing done before posting today. I'll see whether I can catch up before I fall asleep here.
Today was the day we flew over here for - the "official" (re-) dedication of the memorial picnic table for my parents. It's in a great park, not least for birding. I need to make a list to check my count, but I think I may have seen about 30 species, mostly just while sitting at the table to keep it available for our picnic. This Steller's Jay was perched just above my head in one of the trees by the table. I had him in focus, and then he jumped just as I pressed the shutter button.

Maybe the Stellar's Jay had perect timing. Excellent picture of this beautiful Jay in mid hop. What a brilliant way to honor your parents Doc!!!!

Great job with these images Doc! Glad you found so many species for your list.

Some great photos come from our subject suddenly moving as we snap the shutter so to speak. Tfs
