Habitat
Sewage ponds adjacent to the Colorado River next to the river is a riparian hackberry/elm woods and elsewhere the ponds are surrounded by open fields at 134 m (440 ft) elevation.

Reminds me of one of these 19th century Realistic paintings of nature indeed. Great job capturing these sandpipers flying over the yellowish stubble, greyish mud and pale water--all three harmoniously concolourous with the birds' plumage.
