At the eastern Ethiopian town of Harar there is a 600 years old tradition to feed hyenas every night. Normally this is done by the local hyena man, there are however exceptions.

A piece of meat is placed on a short stick and the hyena will eventually go for it. In spite of their bad breath, it is great to feel the confidence these wild hyenas have in humans.

Must have been once in a life time feeling! Getting so close to a wild untamed animal. Man and animal in perfect co-existence. Nice to see you and many thanks for your wonderful narration!!!! Looks and sounds very scary though!!!! Have a great day Volker!!!!!
