Northern Rough-winged Swallow (Stelgidopteryx serripennis)

Pearched on a fence along a road near the north gate to Beale AFB, Marysville, CA. I was able to drive right up and shoot out my car window. He/she didn't mind a bit.
Actually preened itself. Unlike Barn or Tree Swallows that never seem to stop flying in the presence of humans.
Habitat
Flat meadow.
Location
Near Marysville,CA
Date taken
March 24, 2014
Scientific name
Stelgidopteryx serripennis
Equipment used
Cannon EOS 5D MK III with Canon 100-400 mm lens.
You were lucky to find it perched on the wire rather than a power wire. This is just beautiful and clear. Well done.
