    Who's Next?

    We were boating slowly along the shore about 5 pm and saw several swallows flying out from the bank hawking insects. As we went by we could see parent N. Rough-winged Swallows flying in to feed their fledglings. All 7 were perched on a dead branch along the river bank.

    Took this today at the lake. There were dozens of these around feeding on insects. Two pair had taken an interest in a pickup truck and boat trailer and were trying to build a nest in the underside of the truck. I wonder what the guy who owned the truck thought when he came to drive it home...

    Pearched on a fence along a road near the north gate to Beale AFB, Marysville, CA. I was able to drive right up and shoot out my car window. He/she didn't mind a bit. Actually preened itself. Unlike Barn or Tree Swallows that never seem to stop flying in the presence of humans.
