On fire (Stagonopleura oculata)

The next morning I had to be at Adelaide airport check-in for about 5am for the 6am flight to Perth, so we were there just as dawn was breaking. What surprised me was that Peter and Adrienne were allowed to escort me right up to the departure lounge (thought you had to have tickets to get that far LOL).

Fortunately I was flying by Quantas and they serve breakfast on the 3+ hour flight.

Alex (Tiget1) and June met me off the plane and we then had a 5 hour drive to their home just outside Albany.

One of the first birds to greet me there was a juvenile Red-eared Firetail (he'd not got red ears yet LOL), so a new bird virtually before I'd unpacked LOL

That was great getting a new bird. Lovely closeup of this interesting bird you found so soon Delia. Thanks for putting the young White-breasted Nuthatch in the Opus article. I believe that this young one I got was a first for me. I haven't seen it anymore.--Stay safe
