Osprey (Pandion haliaetus)

This bird made for entertaining watching not that they aren't normally. After circling the loch several times it made two attempts at catching a fish creating quite a splash, the second time it caught one but 6' above the water the fish managed to wriggle free. It seemed like in frustration the Osprey circled again and then dived onto the grassy bankside picking up this piece of dead wood which it took off to it's nest. I'm sure it only did it to check it's targetting accuracy!!!

I just saw this one, Ian. Superb! You do a super job of getting all the shadows and highlights of bird's shades from white to black .
