Pheasant

Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus)

This is what happens when stumbling upon a male Pheasant with a 500 lens 1.4X T/C (only removed some pixels to the left). The bird think I am too close to dare moving, so it stands still behind a thin bush for 5 minutes. Have to back off to be able to focus (and as a confidence- building measure ). Even got time to remove the T/C and get some shots with more than the head. Normally they run off immediatly when they notice a human - lucky me. Told him how much I appreciated his cooperation when I left!

Very pleasant pheasant, Hans. Ive heard that sometimes they freeze for a good moment when getting too close. It is nice to have close-up shots this sharp. Looks fantastic with all those deatils.

Lol Hans Thats a cracker! Even got some cobweb to show for detail. You had a "merger" with mother nature for this shot then, you said yourself, they normally run off immediately facing a human.....Lol ;) Well done,Hans

Thanks!
Adrian - very funny!
Ove - yes, this occasional "merger" with mother nature is what makes many of us "tick"

My word that is detailed - lovely portrait Hans - the colours are almost irredescent! (y)
