Red-tailed Hawk
We have a great variation of colouration on our Red-tails in this region... I believe this might be a Harlan's given the almost black plumage.
Habitat
Pine forest
Location
Okanagan, BC
Date taken
02/27/2021
Scientific name
Buteo jamaicensis
Excellent capture!

You are correct about the Harlan’s I believe - (a Dark morph Western would have a pinkish tail).

That's a fine flight picture you've taken of this hawk Beno.

Many thanks for showing him to us.
