Sara Longwing
Sara Longwing (Heliconius sara: Nymphalidae) A striking difference from the open wing view. Wingspan: 5.5-6.0 cm (2.2-2.4 in).
Habitat
Along the margin’s of Río Guayabo. Tropical premontane broadleaf forest (cloud forest) at 626 m (2,054 ft) elevation; situated in an extinct volcano caldera. Lodge grounds planted to attract birds and butterflies (Lantana, Porterweed, Firebush, etc.).
Location
Canopy Lodge, El Valle de Antón, Coclé Province, Panamá.
