SF - persistent Magpie 2 (Pica pica)

I promised you a weekend fun series about the Magpie's antics trying to get at the fat-packed dangly feeders. I must admit, the Magpies were more effective than it looks when it came to emptying those feeders. Judging by how fast the feeders ran empty, they did get at least their size-relative share of the suet and peanut butter.

Pica pica
Equipment used
Nikon 7500, Nikkor 80-400
Supershot, Doc.
Just looking at it is making me go all shivery.
I think I'll put on me thermal knickers again. Brrrrrrr!
I was pleased to lean that the Magpie's efforts were ultimately successful;
in those conditions, he needs all the calories he can get. Well taken (both bird and photographer).

wonderful winter photo of this clever magpie, Ann, a real beauty, many tfs!!!

PS: my secret for the swift photo is simple: I took about 700 photos in 1/2 hour (using continuous shooting mode) to end up with 3 more or less descent ones, so you see, it's not a very glorious secret ...

That really isn't a place you expect to see one feeding, is it, but he appears to be managing very well!
