Golden-rumped Euphonia (Euphonia cyanocephala insignis) Gucamayos Ridge at Loreto Road. East-slope of the Andes in the Napo Province, Ecuador. Species is sexually dimorphic.
Habitat
Montane temperate forest at ca. 2700 m elevation.

Canon EOS 30D, Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens @ 300mm, ISO 200, Shutter speed 1/250 with flash, f/4.5. All minor image mofifications were performed with Aperture 3.1.
A great bird, indeed!:eek!: We also have it here, although it is not common in my place.:t:
